About

Kitchens

Our craftsmen are trained and certified with extensive experience in designing and building kitchens, fine cabinetry and architectural millwork. The kitchens we produce do not only function with accomodating clients in their every need but can also serve as aesthetically appealing accents to your home.

Outside the kitchen: Use cabinetry as accents in your home

Like in a painting, where an artist highlights areas of their design in order to attract attention to it, cabinetry in a home can also do the same. AzAnArt believes in outfitting the rest of your living spaces, not just the common areas such as, kitchens and bathrooms, to enrich the look and feel of your home.

Architectural Millwork

Walking into a space will exert certain energies on you that can in turn bring out moods and evoke emotions. Covering a room in panelling or trimwork can add a uniqueness to a living space that is warming and makes you feel right at home. In addition, Architectural Millwork by AzAnArt Woodworking can help to increase the value of your home. Beautify your home with our combinations of wainscoting and wall panelling.

Exterior Spaces: Let us Build your Fences, Decks and Pergola's

The outside of the home often does not get as much attention to detail. Our clients know that if we can be trusted to make the inside beautiful, the outside deserves just as much care. Let us beautify your outdoor space with the same care and detail as the inside.

John Oliveira
I started an apprenticeship in cabinetry when I was in my first year of university. After juggling both, I acquired my Red Seal in Cabinetry and once finished my degree I had some decisions to make. Looking to pursue a passion for designing and building homes I decided to put a Post Graduate Architecture Degree on hold because the demand for my work and the passion I have for the art of woodworking surpassed my ambition to be an Architect (Not to mention be committed to another 3 years of schooling). I wanted to build and take advantage of the opportunities that were in front of me that gave me gratification of building something beautiful and make a living while doing this.

I eventually pursued becoming an Ontario Certified Teacher in Construction Technology which I acquired to fulfill my interest in Vocational Education and the future of this industry and artform.

During my time at Ryerson University I volunteered as a Teaching Assistant at the Ryerson School of Interior Design (RSID). I worked closely with several Design Professors and woodworking technicians which helped me to develop a combination of design styles which I now apply to my cabinetry and construction practices. I later worked for one of the largest Construction Training Centre Operations in North America. There I worked both on the training side as an instructor but also in Management helping to set the stage for Training the members of the largest local construction union in North America that build everything from residential high rise/low-rise structures to large public infrastructure projects. There I learned a lot about structural framing, concrete and the planning processes of larger scale construction projects. Since leaving there, I confidently provide construction management services within the residential industry of construction while still specializing in fine cabinetry and interior/exterior millwork (woodwork).
Our Vision
I have visited many museums of fine art that showcase furniture, wooden articles and eclectic spaces. Some of the pieces were antique cabinetry and furniture that have stood the test of time; still standing hundreds of years later and which were built in much more primitive circumstances. Despite it being fascinating to understand that craftsman/women could build woodwork of such quality in those times, these pieces often have fabulous stories that go along with them. With the resources we have today, I believe building timeless spaces and quality cabinetry that is both beautiful and long lasting is well within our reach. Our homes these days often need to be created, changed or renovated in order to reflect our personal needs and lifestyle. We hope to be able to take your spaces and make your home your personal museum. A space for which you can entertain guests, tell stories and enjoy. I venture to produce work that people can enjoy throughout their lifetime and pass on because of it's beauty and unique quality. It is my hope that one day the footprint that my work and vision leaves behind today becomes a story for someone else to share tomorrow.

"In a decaying society, art, if it is truthful, must also reflect decay. And unless it wants to break faith with its social function, art must show the world as changeable. And help to change it." - Ernst Fischer
